A Fanciful Landscape: Gouache on Paper, 8” x 4.75”

This is a small landscape painted with gouache. The tree and the mountains are bare in comparison to the rich green carpet of vegetation beneath them.

The lines are graphic and determined. The sky, full of activity and movement, is painted with delicate whimsical lines and swirls using colors of similar light intensity. The mountains depict motion as well, but in contrast to the sky they are painted with slow, strong, and deliberate strokes.
